WRITING: An Aggregate of Passion and Duty

Many things get done simply by just pen and paper format. Words that cannot be spoken get acted on almost sooner when they are written than said.
This is a forum for not just poets, dramatist or singular body writers (other kinds of literature and forms of writing). This forum accommodates those who can read written pieces, misunderstand them, redefine them and criticize them. Hence, what is your meaning towards writing and how have you taken it? What has it done for you? How have you received it and what effect is there within you?

If you are loosing on this subject, please make sure to call my attention. Before I make to point out what is to be tonight, I’d inform you that your questions would arouse more.

I am writer. One whose fairly passionate about it because I do with it what I want than what others would have me do. On the other hand, another person who is passionate about writing can still take it the way I do. Now, I shall talk firstly about writing and passion.

There are ways we get drawn to writing: reading people’s work and rarely, it’s within; innate; not genetic, etc. I should also include this rare fact. Writing passionately can come from experience(s).
On to duty. In this case, passion fall in and out. Our duties to our societies are numerous. A person can be responsible to his society only on paper (may not be because he doesn’t know any other way). We know these ways. Writing being a duty is a thing we decide on our own. With regards to passion, it is also decision based. For instance,
1. I owe my country entertainment ( plays), I’ll give it to her to correct the vices within.
2. I want to write plays because I can’t help it, also I hope it changes the situation of things. What’s the difference?

May I ask if I am clear? I can entertain questions now.

[4/19, 8:42 PM] Guest Speaker: Yes. Most times, it’s becomes a task.

[4/19, 8:42 PM] ‪+234 810 621 8398‬: Thank you ma. Still following.

[4/19, 8:43 PM] Guest Speaker: Amazingly, they are actually good at it even without passion.

[4/19, 8:44 PM] ‪+234 813 570 1379‬: Ok

[4/19, 8:48 PM] Guest Speaker: I should also add that even when you don’t write with passion, fate can make your work appear born out of passion and people would commend you like writing can’t leave you because you’re born to write.

[4/19, 8:48 PM] Versatile Saint: Ma, my question is this; How feasible is it to synchronize our passion with wanting to impart, in the same bid if not being strenuous or tasking ?

[4/19, 8:54 PM] Guest Speaker: If passion is love for something, impacting can work and strenuous shouldn’t be effective than the hold of passion. Albeit there’s the tendency to get weakened, but your love for what you do can relieve at intervals. How feasible? It is very possible because I think passion can start out on anything. Have I answered?

[4/19, 8:59 PM] Versatile Saint: Yes… Thank you.

My Question:

1. Writing as duty, does it mean to be that one harness wealth from it since it’s taken as the person’s duty?

2. Writing as passion, does it mean one can’t do without it that it turns to a duty?

[4/20, 8:15 AM] Guest Speaker:
1. As a duty, what you do with writing; what you affect with your writing, positively or any other way. Not basically money wise.

As passion. It doesn’t become duty if u don’t want it. You do what you will with your passion, no compulsions.. Not because u can’t do without it that it becomes duty. It becomes duty when you choose to implement your skill..
