SERIES 2: Man & Understanding

PREMISE: Inspiration may not necessarily mean to be influenced by an abstract Idea or Knowledge, it may be the creator’s own way of explaining to us what we are and where he has situated us.

Maybe by the reason of the inherent trait in us, through Adam, man has deemed it fit to over time, named things as they supposedly appeals to him. And for a truth, such things which were named in the fallen state, may not necessarily have been truthfully or appropriately understood. Some may have been named far beyond the truth of what they are, and they have been hitherto used by all. But thank God for the understanding of the fact that this world of ours is totally spiritual and we have to an extent come to understand that for everything that be physically, there must in the inception have been a deeper or spiritual truth to them.

The topic of discourse continuing from yesterday’s stop point (Man and Understanding 1) is one of such many “under-referred-to” aspects that have been used below the conception of what they truly are: Man and Understanding. Science out of her supposed expertise has concluded that Man is a homo-sapien, evolutionists would tell you man evolved out of Apes, biologists would be glad to argue out if you ever said man is not a product of the sperm and eggs. But thank God for a better understanding that we have come to know that man is a creation with a creator. We have for long had reasons and speculations to why things are the way they are due to limited understanding, and this is why the more we know the more needful we should understand them (those knowledge).

Imagine a student in a school who comes to learn, the truth is that whether he/she comes to learn or not, that does not change the fact that the knowledge of arithmetic, science, and any other subject exist. Knowledge does and will continue to exist with or without the need to come learn it. It takes a process, a mechanism called understanding to come into terms with the knowledge that there is. Having to learn “the how, the why, the what” that each knowledge entails. This act of coming to terms with knowledge is what we cumulatively refer to as understanding.

Or imagine you are employed into a company where you have your desk and chair and yet oblivious of what to do. For such person to “understand” what him or her is supposed to do, the questions of what, why and how? Must come into play, hereby aligning such person with the knowledge of what the job entails. This is to say that with or without our impute, knowledge, actions, facts, truths, realities exist, it is the deliberate efforts we put in to come into terms, into alignment with them that makes understanding what it is.

Daniel 5:14 Establishes the truth that “understanding” is and can be found in a person.
I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods [is] in thee, and [that] light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Job 32:8 Underlines the “how” what (understanding) is found in a person came to be there.
But [there is] a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

It is on the strength of this, that you would see that understanding is not just an abstract naming of English reference rather it is the mechanism in us established and powered by God for us to come into terms, into alignment and into conceiving the vastness of our existence and the wonders of where he has situated us.

We must come know that for us to explore life so to speak, for us to really have a definition of our existence of this life that we live, we must have an “UNDERSTANDING” of it. And this understanding is not such prescribed by the details of how much you study via academics or how much you have for comfort via possession…. It is such that is engraved in the mystery that we daily unveil by our relation with the grand master, the designer of Earth.

I can confidently say to you that this is not a matter of religion or denominational segregation it is a yearning as old and ancient as life itself, the inherent and subconscious quest and thirst of man for identity. Such that has made him tried and explored different means to supposedly reach his “full potential“.

Taoism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, among ceaselessly number of religions do agree there’s a greater force above whose ways must be “UNDERSTOOD“.

To round off this series, I’d reemphasize that: Understanding is not just an abstract naming of English reference rather it is the mechanism in us established and powered by God for us to come into terms, into alignment and into conceiving the vastness of our existence and the wonders of where he has situated us.

Have you ever asked or wondered why regardless of the variation in the religions of the earth, the diversity in the cultures and traditions there is the unifying factor of “belief and faith“… Man in the bid to engage the mechanism; Understanding to aligning and exploring where he is situated, continually wants to “BELIEVE” In something, ….?

Some scientists would say: why should I believe the bible, so long it spoon feeds and doesn’t give room for being questioned? Well that is very far from the truth. This is because the bible gives room for being questioned that is why there is always a notion of choice. The basic reason that we proffer the bible as a template of truth is because it is the only book whose authorial composition (2Timothy 3:16) is divine, as well as whose validity and content truth has withstood the test of time and knowledge (history, archaeology, science e.t.c).
