SERIES 1: Counsel of the Preacher.

Good evening everyone!

I am Miss. Alabi Pelumi Oyinkansola

It is a pleasure to be here and speak with the family. Our theme is “Counsel of the Preacher” and the text, Ecclesiastes 3:9-15. I would prefer of we read from the start of the chapter.

[Ecc 3:1] Amplified
TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:

So it starts by telling us everything is assigned a season or time. Whatever matter, purpose, action, that happens has it’s time assigned. Time as in a fraction of eternity or season as a part of a reality. The following verses go on to outline the matters or purposes the times are assigned to, Verses 2-8.

So that leads us to our text of focus, My personal concentration would be in verse 11

[Ecc 3:11] Amplified
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

He has made everything beautiful in its time, God in His divine essence has made it possible for every season to be beautiful. Both the good ones and seemingly bad ones. He created man to be able to withstand all the seasons. He created us so the ability to withstand any and all of the seasons is found in the word ‘Eternity’ that He put in us we are able to excel beyond the troubles and comforts that comes with ‘Time’ because what is greater than time is in us “Eternity”. Times like I said is just a portion in eternity, Now, the consequence of Eternity dwelling in us is that God dwells in us. I’m talking as new creation now, Because scripture tells us God dwells in eternity. Beyond time.

[[Isa 57:15]] Amplified. For thus says the high and lofty One-He Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, but with him also who is of a thoroughly penitent and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the thoroughly penitent [bruised with sorrow for sin].

He inhabits eternity. Solomon was speaking from this understanding. The plan for humanity is that in whatever times or seasons we experience, we are to remind ourselves of our consciousness – God in eternity in us. This is our place of counsel or advice. He created everything in time and outside time, He knows all, past, present, future. Because in eternity, there’s no time.

[Eccl. 3:15] Amplified
That which is now already has been, and that which is to be already has been; and God seeks that which has passed by [so that history repeats itself ].

God did it this way so that man would reverence Him and acknowledge His sovereignty

[Eccl. 3:11] Amplified
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

He did it so that we understand that He is our all and satisfaction. The more we spend time with Him and seek Him the more of Him in eternity we know, the more we understand that we operate beyond time or times. Then we realise that in our union with the Father, we are limitless.. Just like eternity >>>Timeless.
So… we are starting this month knowing that we are not bound out left under the mercy of times and seasons, but God has placed us much higher and farther. When we experience seemingly trying times, we look within, into our reality, into God and we make our decisions as a result of this. As preachers of Gods counsel through the Scribal office or believers in general, this should be our lifestyle.

I would like to end the teaching here tonight. Looking forward to the teaching for the second series.
