THE CRAVINGS OF THE HEART
Our words always have a way of expressing the content of our heart. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So I know a man by how he speaks, he can be spurious but trust me, it won’t last says Nosa- Ojo Tessy. So, actions a man exhibits are as a result of what he is thinking. The heart of a man is pivotal in the sense that he has a will for himself- he possesses a soul which is the seat of mind, will and emotion (joy, love hatred, grief etc.)
However, we’re on constant hustle and search for a place that makes us feel like we truly belong – exactly as we are. The yearning upon every man is to belong to a family where he can be loved, an association whereby he can express himself, friends to party with, a partner to spend the night with, a desire to have someone you can talk to, an opposite sex you can curdle, caress etc. All these are as a result of the cravings of the heart, but the truth is can your cravings when tested by the refiner’s fire survives?
The remembrance of Jesus’s birth is a call unto us that we must learn to submit our will for God’s will to have its place. During the Jesus’s ministry on earth, he had a will but he said, “whatsoever I see my father do, that is what I will do.” Then, who are you not to submit your will?
The psalmist recorded that in Psalm 45:1a, my heart is inditing a good matter. Here King David heart was craving for what is valuable, concerning the Christ’s person, of his kingdom, of his love to the church, and of the church itself, what is pleasant and delightful, comfortable, useful, and profitable. That is what your heart must crave for.
Have you made plans for yourself on how you want this Christmas to be celebrated, or you have a wrong perspective to celebrating Christmas, if it’s not in accordance to God’s will, then it is a waste. There is a family you truly belong to which is Jesus’s family, it high time you find immortal and walk with Him until you get to a point where Paul said, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ that lives in me. I welcome you to the lover’s family.
