The Death OF DEATH

Generations of declining moral
Hope of the old
Fear of the young
Death! You are called

Thy Father is the devil

Father of lies

Thy mother is sin

Deadlier than poison

A threat you are

Even to the bravest of men

A status changer

Making parents childless

Making children orphans

Making husbands widower

Making wives widows

Oh! Death
The dreaded general of hell ⸺
What a Pity⸺ When death itself died
Who else but a man Who died to meet death,
Met death by a power
Such that quickens mortals
Killed death in its quarters
And resurrected to the burials of death.

Hell; the mansion of death still stands
But only the inhabitants of hell knows,
Only them knows their master is gone,
And few that believed the report of a dead man,
A dead man, now resurrected Speaks of his adventure,
Only those who believe him truly knows,
That death is dead,
And at such testimony,
They aren’t haunted by death’s ghost.
