When we talk today on government or governance, an average human being or even an average Nigerian is disinterested. Not because they are not concerned but became they have chosen to narrow their concern to their immediate life.
The fault in the world governance, the continuous and unceasing failure of government over the years in being able to make life better for the people has contributed to the disinterest and avoidance of people and even disbelief (lack of faith) in any possibility of hope that anyone may seemingly proffer when it comes to government and governing.
The Devil, for a fallen person in a fallen state, is doing quite fine in his attempt to get many of us on the wrong notion of what governance is. And at such many people when they hear about government they don’t ever even think that God can have a part in it or even it can be better, because government has been seen an agency and institution solely controlled by darkness and that anything God cannot have anything to do with governance.
”I instituted Governance not Politics”.
The above are the very words God gave me one day after my heart incessantly asks for the possibility of achieving a good government in this nation Nigeria. And since then I come to be disinterested in politics, but believe a nation can be great, when they choose to understand the God perspective about Governance, and not only understanding but also reverting back to it.
IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO.
Genesis 1:26-28
26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
From vs 26, we understand that God the father was speaking to an “us” about His intentions. He said let us make man in our own image. In the creation reality of man, the intention for creating man was that man would govern over earth eventually, have dominion over all that God has created, hereby becoming an extension of the personality of God to govern ─ we then see that vs 26 was an intention, vs 27 through to 28 was the process of realization where God created man in His own image. Verse 28, the Bible recorded that God blessed them and the reason for the blessing is to be an empowerment to make the intention possible.
God blessed them and God said to them “…’Be fruitful and Multiply’ fill the earth and subdue it…”. So the governance capacity of man to have dominion is hinged upon the obedience to be fruitful and multiply. How then do we become fruitful? But what the devil has successfully achieved in our days is his old scheme of always wanting to shift our gaze from the command to only the intention.
It is good to cherish the intention of God, it is good to possess the will of God and be happy ─ but it is best to follow also the command attached to the intention. God’s intention is quickened and would be brought to fulfillment without any disturbance if we cherish the command, the way we cherish the intention. So the principle of governance states that: For the blessings of the intention of God to come to effect, the command of the intention must be adhered to.
Deception, Illusion, Façade, Clouded Judgment, Bias Perception, Revelation of half Truth amongst many other facilitated vices are the means through which devil has been able to refrain you and I from the Truth. The devil is skilled at making us run after a portion of the Truth, or even a dimension of God’s intention, hereby making us ignorantly neglecting the command of God that validates His intention.
Man on eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, got so much familiar with some basic knowledge and spiritual intentions of God and due to such enthusiasm and exposure to the vastness of knowledge, we were and have been blinded to various commands (Spiritual laws and principles) that validates those knowledge. Many of us have run off from God on our little exposure to knowledge, intentions or even will of God and by so doing we say what we know about God does not work. It is not that they don’t actually work, it is that their workability and functioning is hinged upon commands (Spiritual laws and principles) of intimacy, of fruitfulness that compels the heaven to part with mysteries and reveal secrets unto men.
This is to say that dominion is an intention, fruitfulness and multiplicity is the command. Meaning that for every child of God to dominate, such persons must have known God (Intercoursed, abided in God) through which there would have been an exposure to mysteries, secrets and spiritual laws that commands the blessing of multiplication that validates dominion.
THE FAULT OF MEN
On his success over generations, the devil has narrowed our focus to the place of dominion and that is why for decade upon decades, century upon centuries now, man has always have this inherent trait to dominate one another ─ such faulty side of dominion that has birthed countless dictators, imperfect monarchs and victimizing deliverers. From one generation to another we have focused on the dominion aspect of God that Kingship as an office has hitherto faultily metamorphosed over the years. Men began to have Kings, Chancellors, Prime-Ministers, Presidents, Governors, Chairmen, Dukes, Wardens amongst many of them, changing phases and names, but yet have failed to give people peace or good life.
No matter how much we have tried to camouflage it, we sons of men have failed woefully in our attempt to make a better living for our fellow men. For it was never part of our dominion mandate. All that God created was to be under us, but not our fellow men. This is why if we do not sooner revert to the natural floor plan of Kingdom Governance ─ we will continually chase shadows of hope thinking we can help our selfless through any humanly created institution.
THE SYSTEM PROTOTYPE
During the call of Abraham, the bible never recorded that he was called out of a kingdom, rather out of his own people and through the lifetime of Abraham, it was not said of him, Abraham that he became a king, yet the blessings of God upon him conferred un him the attributes and things associated with a king; servant-soldiers, land, wealth e.t.c. this is because dominion is established in obedience which is the core value of servitude.
God’s kingdom is established on obedience to God our King, and then you might want to ask me what are we? God exposed us to the Priesthood dimension of His kingdom, for therein is our royalty (kingship) validated.
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
God wants us to obey Him, serve Him and by doing this, He can trust us, entrust us and install us as kings to represent his interest on His creations. This is why all through from Genesis to Exodus till the children of Israel were established in the land as Israel. God never being king to them, but priesthood; To worship Him. He exposed the priesthood dimension of Governance, because they already have Him to be their king.
Having established to the children His intentions of being their king and ministering to them through the priesthood dimension of governance, from Aaron down to Eli─ God decided, due to the failure of the children of Eli, and disregard for the person of God, the word of God in those days was scarce. God wanted to introduce the prophetic (creative and revelatory) dimension of governance to Israel by conferring Samuel to be a priest and a prophet─ so they would not lack the justice system of God and the legislative intentions (legal system) of what God wants them to do. For He did that with them in the wilderness where He, God was the king, Moses served as God’s prophet and legislator while Aaron served as the emblem of His judicial system. He wanted us all to understand that these three (3) offices are one and go hand in hand. As the Trinity are one─ God the Father; The King, the executive, Jesus our High Priest; the judicial entity of the Godhead and the HolyGhost the legislature; the legal entity of the Godhead’s implementation.
But again the devil came and shifted the focus of the people from God’s intention and they (the Israelites) requested for a “king like other nations”. So also in this recent generations we have sought out various inventions for ourselves through politics, supposed hereditary monarchy, different forms and types of government, trying to through our faulty knowledge seek out peace on the shoulders of the world. This is why we expend millions and billions trying to maintain the arms of government (executive, legislature and judiciary) that is supposed to maintain us.
But until we revert to this initial intention of kingdom governance, where we permit only God to reign, we may be going nowhere or making progress in this failed game of man trying to lead man.
